D’Arcangelo Launches Reelection Campaign for Malden City Councilor-At-Large

Vows to continue be “Voice of Reason” for Malden


MALDEN, MA – July 7, 2015 –David D’Arcangelo announced today that he is seeking reelection to the Malden City Council in this November’s city elections.  The two time incumbent is seeking his third term on the Council.

“I am pleased to announce my candidacy for reelection as Malden City Councilor-At-Large.” Said D’Arcangelo who went further to say, “My passion is public service and many hard working taxpayers continue to tell me they want a Councilor who will continue to be a voice of reason by keeping spending in check,” said D’Arcangelo. “I want to continue to be their champion on the Malden City Council. Together, we can continue to make Malden a great place to live, work, own a business, and raise a family.”

Many recognize D’Arcangelo as being one of the most active and dynamic members of the Malden community.  His extensive local record of public service includes two terms on City Council, six years on the Planning Board, years as a small business owner and Chamber of Commerce member as well as years of service to charitable groups such as Malden Rotary Club, Challenger League baseball and EMARC. 

Some of D’Arcangelo’s recent City Council accomplishments include instituting the first ever Community Center policies, a Financial Reserve policy and being a yes vote for new buildings such as the reuse of McFadden Manor and a new Police Station. 

D’Arcangelo, who has served five Governor’s and is now the Director for the Massachusetts Office On Disability, is one of only a handful of public servants to have inside working knowledge of both the Executive and Legislative branches of Massachusetts State Government.  First appointed by Governor Mitt Romney to the Mass. Commission for the Blind Rehab Council and later reappointed by Governor Patrick.  This past April, D’Arcangelo was appointed by Governor Baker as Director of the Office on Disability for the Baker-Polito Administration.

Known as a talented problem solver with over 20 years of professional experience, D’Arcangelo has an impressive background of both public and private accomplishments.  D’Arcangelo has been the catalyst for a large number of successful public endeavors including winning political campaigns, corporate turnarounds and non-profit triumphs.  He was born in Malden, is a graduate of Suffolk University and is married to former Ward Five School Committeewoman Lisa D’Arcangelo.  The D’Arcangelo’s have a daughter and reside on Bainbridge Street.
