About David D'Arcangelo
David D'Arcangelo is City Councilor At-Large and running for re-election. D’Arcangelo’s public life has always been motivated by the spirit of voluntarism. D’Arcangelo remains committed to keeping spending in check and holding the line on tax increases, while supporting essential city services such as schools, police, fire, and public works. Throughout his tenure, D’Arcangelo has advocated for a healthy mix of residential and commercial development. As a former small business owner D’Arcangelo values the vibrancy small businesses bring to a local community.
Some initiatives that D’Arcangelo has been a major player are; negotiating the City’s Surrounding Community Agreement that includes provisions for multi-millions of dollars’ worth of “buy local” spending from the Wynn Everett casino, reducing the costs of permitting fees to support redevelopment and installing financial controls to ensure greater fiscal accountability in City Hall.
D’Arcangelo brings a wealth of public sector experience to the Malden City Council. He has served five Governors and is now the Director for the Massachusetts Office on Disability. David was born in Malden, is a graduate of Suffolk University and is married to former Ward Five School Committeewoman Lisa D’Arcangelo.
